Funny anklet story here.  Happened about 20 years ago.  My brother bought his wife an anklet for Christmas.  Our Grandmother who was in her 60's was completely appalled by it.  I couldn't understand why as I thought it was just the fashion and had no idea of it's supposed meaning.  Grandma just said, "nice girls don't wear that sort of thing."

Twenty years later and it turns out it meant what we think it means, in their relationship, and I'm left wondering, how did Grandma know???
