Maybe in a situation where one is unable, but I’ve seen many where it was just to do it.  Those are the ones I cant comprehend.

I wouldn't necessarily say that. My wife has never been on birth control. Neither one of us have ever been very adamant with condoms. We went bare before eachother and continue to do so.
